Why don't people say bless you when you poot?

the old tale is that in the old days people thought when u sneezed u were releasing ur soul and by saying god bless u u would get it back. i dont think they thought anything of "pooting" i dont say anything when i hear a sneeze but if i hear a "poot" i laugh or say u stink!!!

Anyone who offers well wishes is offering a blessing, whether they know it or not. I think that this is a neo-tradition making fun of an old tradition! "Bless you" is for sneezes...but as they say, "better out than in," and anyone with a gaseous digestive tract needs all the blessings they can get!
