When you're on birth control and take antibiotics i know that it makes the effectiveness of b/c weak or doesnt work at all...I was just wondering for how long does it make it not work..or when will my b/c be effective again..

I am on the pill and I wait until my next cycle of pills starts. I think you are to wait a week after the medication but not sure.

As long as you are taking antibiotics your birth control will be affected. Antibiotics usually clear out from your system after not taking them for a few days - in the mean time use condoms!

You will need to re-start with the counting for effectiveness once the antibiotics are finished. For example, if your pill takes 7 days to be effective, it will be 7 days from the day you finish your antibiotics.

You are supposed to use backup for 7 days after taking antibiotics.
