This is for a report that i am doing on child obesity. Also do you think that the schools taking out pop of the schools will be helpful, but they keep feeding the kids the same food as they have always??

Doctors will say genetics prove that obese people's children have a high likelihood of being obese. But I feel it isn't genetics as much as it is learned behavior. Take an obese person what do they eat? Obviously nothing healthy. So what are they fixing their children to eat? Junk and the child learns this behavior and thinks it is okay and they eat like their parents eat and so on. It is the behavior that they learned unless they break the cycle.

Taking pop out of schools could help but some will drink it at home anyway it is a step in the right direction. The school menus could use a lot of help. Most of it is junk (Hotdogs, Lunchmeat sandwiches) not very good choices!

Obese breeds obese. If your parents sit around and do nothing but eat then the kids will likely do the same. Schools try to help but without support from home it is fighting a losing battle. Young kids do what their parents do.

I think it is probable because if the parents don't instill good habits as far as eating and exercise go then yes they will be obese. Now my husband and I are overweight but since our kids have gotten older we have started an exercise program and a change in your eating habits. This is because we don't want our kids to have the problems we have.

I think it will be more likely that the child will become obese also.

The likelihood is greater. Schools need to serve healthier meals with less fat content, and better nutritional content.

Not for sure, but their chances will be good without proper diet.
