Jews and Muslims have a "personal" relationship with God? Is it only Christians that are afforded this opportunity?

Maybe I should just ask all of you- Can you define "Personal relationship"?

Do You believe Moses never had a personal relationship with God? Elijah, Elisha, Solomon,? Any of the Old Testament Prophets? John the Baptist?

I really wanna understand this from your point of view...

What happened to the word "Hindus"? It is not even metioned in your question.

I am going to answer, at least, what I THINK you are trying to ask...from a muslim point of view.

In Islam (meaning in the Koran and sayings of Prophet Mohammad), all three kinds of the people of the book (Jews, Christians, and Muslims) have a "personal" relationship with god. All the prophets (the ones mentioned in the Old Testament) plus Moses, Christ, and Mohammad were God's messengers.

In fact, in Islam, we say that there were 144,000 prophets sent to mankind throughout time with Adam being counted as the first one and Mohammad being the last one.

The world is also warned that Mohammad will be the last chance by God for the people to correct their ways. After Mohammad, only the day of judgement will follow.

All of these prophets were righteous but their word has been lost and their teachings have been corrupted, altered, and changed over time.

It is said that only four books were ever revealed. One of them has been lost in history because the nation to whom it was revealed, was punished and wiped clean from this planet.

Only three such books exist today: The Torah, The Bible, and The Koran. So today, Koran is the only true "word of God" and God has taken upon himself that he will not let anyone alter it. And when the time comes, God will just lift the Koran out of the hearts and the minds of the people. Just look at how many different versions of Bible are there and how many times has it been rewritten?

Polytheists and Atheists are not even in the picture because if you believe in more than one god or not god at all, then how can you have a "personal" relationship with him.

I guess you are referring to the often heard remarks from Certain Christians that one must establish a "personal relationship" with God to get going on being saved and the rest.

At first, I did not take this as meaning that this phrase meant that other religions did not offer such a relationship, but then when you add to these remarks the others about how there is only one true and actual way - theirs, and only one true and acutal god - theirs, well, then it develops that in fact they must be denying there is any relationship with God, since these other religions either don't have the same God or don't have the right number when they call [1.800.JESUS].

Well, Moses and God had a talk of a sorts, but acutally, didn't God just dictate a few words to him and hang up? Not much of a relationship. Really, with the old prophets, he just left notes around. Wasn't really what you'd call "personal."

my personal relationship deals with when i find time to be alone with God. it may be in the busy time of day when i travel and listen to His word, it may be when i pray to Him and it is even the feeling that i get when i spend realy quality time with my family and i realize the gift that He has given me.
