I have thick frizzy hair and I what a product that can tame it... but not a shampoo... I don't have the time or money for 'frizz ease' treatment. I just want something to lessen the frizz like a gel that can be put on to dry hair. I am a college student so I can't have anything too pricey either...
I'm also looking for something I can just pick up at the store...

Can anyone name a brand or an exact product, and not a general one, like spray or gel...

You might try mayonaisse or beer. No joke. They both really work well to add shine and manageability to thick frizzy hair.

John Freida Products are inexpensive and can be found at any local store. There are serums and sprays you can buy to reduce thje frizziness. I have the same problem, but I use the newest line from herbal essence, called "None of Your Frizziness." It's in a red bottle, along with the other new stuff by herbal essences. Again, it's inexpensive, but you said not a shampoo, so never mind.
Another option is using a ceramic gold-plate hair striaghtener. The Vidal Sassoon ones are amazing. Fully heated in a matter of seconds and inexpensive. Mine was $35. My hair is thick, frizzy, and down to my waist, and it takes me 20 minutes or less to run the straightener through it every other day.
The reason I hesitate to name anti-frizz products is that 1.) many don't work for more than an hour 2.) many leave your hairy greasy 3.) they're more of a hassle than a help.

I know it's a little pricy. However, there is nothing out there like Aveda's "Be Curly." It is the most amazing product, I have had curly frizzy hair my entire life and this transforms it and gives it definition. I found that I've been able to save some money by buying it on ebay - but ask around from your curly haired friends and see if they'll let you give you a dobble. I promise you will never want to use anything else.

Although I have straight hair I'd suggest a curl cream or some sort of curl enhancer. Try putting it in after you get out of the shower to damp hair, and blow dry it. then use a hairspray or curling gel to keep it in place.

after you put lotion on your hands, run a small amount through your hair. I discovered this after seeing a pricey designer item(Doowop "hands to hair") and realized this could be acheived with any lotion. Just stick to the ends and don't get it near you roots.
