Wear your hair up and wear a nice dress. I have been to the opera before and at the Metropolitan Opera or the Met, which is where you are going, people dress to impress. It is the opera. People dress very fancy to these events. I suggest something that you would wear to the Porm (Formal Prom wear), really nice jewelry, and wear you hair up in curls or whatever fits your dress.

You will want to look for a cocktail dress, something that is about knee length. Try keeping your jewelry simple.
When I went to the phantom of the opera in Los angeles, I wore black cocktail dress, my hair was pinned up in a bun and secured with a opal shell. I wore fake opal earings and a single necklace.
You may also want to carry a shawl to wrap around your shoulder if your dress is in a halter style.

Ok.Try a long thin dress in black so you ll slim. Then wear her in a bun and try to get some tan. As for make go for browns, gold, copper. They ll work woders.I am a make up artist so if you want contact me and I ll help you online with the make up. Next thing, if you go to Accessorize, Claire's or Things* you'll notice gold jewellery. The most important thing is that it should be gold cuostume jewellery not gold as real gold.I got a beautiful necklace at Lm2.75 / $6 from Things* for a wedding and everyone was like Wow that looks amazing. Remember: long black dress in alight material, tanned skin, make up on browns, golds and copper and stilletos. If you wanna contact me regarding make up pls do so

A simple black dress would be more than appropriate because you can always dress it up. I tend to do my hair "up" for fancier occasions but if your ever unsure, half up and half down fits the bill just as well. Depending on how simple your dress is, I'd have fun with the jewelry.

If you have long than shoulder length hair, I would pull it back into a sleek and neat bun or pony tail. This way, you can look sophisticated without having to spend money on a blowout and free up your face for some nice jewlery (or knockoff renditions from H & M).
