They both can be eaten!

They both can die!

They both are capable of rolling/falling off a cliff.

This sounds like a high school biology assignment. Here's a start.

They both require air and water and nutrients to grow and mature.

Without proper care and tending they will not thive or grow to their largest size.

You may have to look up the chromosone count for dogs. When I Googled this I found the apple has 34.

They both come in a variety of shapes and colours (i.e. breeds).

They can be found in many differnt parts of the country.
