no the chains were actually made of Admantium (same stuff wolverine's claws are made of)
Hercules could not break them because God said that he couldn't. See when God says something then it has to be. So when God got made at humans he said all food that is good for you shall taste bad and all food you like shall be bad for you. Thus , Hercules got really fat and that Kevin Sorbo guy ad to take his place.

That wasn't Hercules, he's Greek mythology. I think the guys name was Samson or something like that.
