The reason sI left are too much to explain. It' was not due to a coffee addictin or too strict rules..but b/c of a calling from God to me..telling me to get out because the mormon church is not his church. It's all based on feelings too little on fact.It contradicts the bible in many areas...think about it. The bible says "trinity" the BOM says "three different PEOPLE". God mad people. People cannot be God. ANd if GOd was once a person who made him? zTheres more..IM to ask me.

The book of Mormon is True. The bible is True. Joseph Smith is a prophet. I study every second I get and can witness and testify of the divinity of Jesus Christ and that HIS church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Don't listen to false prophets ask God and study the word yourself. It is true doctrine, why else would so many people try to desecrate the word? If it wasn't true they would just forget about and pursue their own causes. It is true. I would never, ever, ever leave the church, I am a CHRISTIAN, mormon is an author of a book, just like John, true Christians know this and can testify as God as their witness that they stand for honor and truth and righteousness. www.lds.org

I don't believe you, or several of the other answerers, have left "mormonism", for the following reasons:
• f you had you wouldn't be calling it "mormonism", that's a term I've only heard used by anti-Mormons
• you would know perfectly well that we read the Bible in exhaustive detail (this year's Sunday School course of study is the Old Testament, we're halfway through Kings)
• you would know that the Bible never mentions "trinity". No really, it doesn't. Look it up.
• you would know that the Book of Mormon is an extremely complex , richly poetic and incredibly crafted book, and not a pasta dish of any kind.
I was an Evangelical Christian, frustrated that I never seemed to be able to get the baptism of the holy spirit or feel close to God. I found the relationship I craved with my Heavenly Father and saviour, and the Holy Spirit, by joining "mormonism". So I guess I did it the other way round.

Yes, I used to be Mormon. I left when I was 17, several years ago. My story is long, so I'll give you (and the world) my short reason: it's not true. That's right: the Mormon church is false and their ideas do not even live up to what the Bible has to say. Mormons profess to believe the Bible, but they don't. They don't even read it. They only read the Book of Mormon. (I've read it over 8 times, and it's full of bologna.) That's the short of it. I'm a Christian, a follower of Jesus Christ, now. That's what I believe. If anyone has any questions or would like to talk to me about Mormonism, I'd be happy to talk. :)

No. I'm still here, trying to obey the commandments and be a good person, just like millions of other non-Mormons do too. But from a little personal experience, I've seen that some who leave think it's too strict, requires too much effort, or they never developed their own testimony. There are various reasons.

Swedenborg answered my questions on the Holy Trinity. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit is like the soul, the body and the works in a single person. I'm a monotheist Christian now or a "oneness" Christian now.

The last catagory is the one that is the worst.
And I smoke and like it.
