If "no man knows the day or hour", then why is everyone trying to figure out when the "end of days" is coming, and relating current events to it?

And if you say "I just wanna be ready", aren't you already behind?

And wouldn't you already be outta here anyways?

So shouldn't live our Lives as He would have us do, and not worry about it?

every generation since the time of Christ has had some people who said the end times would come in their lifetime. Even Paul said it in his earlier writings. If you are a Christian, why wouldn't you want Him to come back and so search for anything you can find. And who doesn't like to feel special. . .

It works well for televangelists because they can say hurry all these people are going to go to hell if you don't send me lots of money now so I can spread the word (and put a down payment on a yacht).

Well, we are not told not to worry about it. We are told to be ready as if it were to happen today.

So, as long as we are ready for it to happen, we should not worry about when it will happen.

But, i can understand the fears especially of Young adults and teens. They want what life has to offer them here on earth yet, so while they know to be ready, they really want it to be a long time off yet.
The older I get, the more prepared to leave this earth I am, be it in earthly death or the "taking up in the clouds"

As far as current events, there has always been something in each generation that they perceived as being the end times. And I suppose there will continue to be something for coming generations, but because the bible says he will come back as a theif in the night, something tells me that it will be in a time of relative calm, and not during what we have going on right now, lots of strife and violence.

Well, people just like to know everything and not be surprised, eventhough that's impossible when speaking of this subject. Some like to say that the three false leaders have already ruled, and use other reasons to give reason for them thinking that the end is near. The truth is, no one knows what God has in store for us, and, so, yes, people should continue living their lives that way God would want us to. There's no way to prepare for the end except by knowing what will happen, so why waste time trying to figure out something that our minds were not designed to?

I think that its important to realise that theologians have gone over revelations scads more thne your local activist or pastor. And theres is an even more terrifying version of that line.

More commonly known as the.. no end version where its made out to say "no man will ever know" this hints at a little more is involved in the process of endings and beginnings as alot of people beleave it is.

Esspecially evengelists whom think at least in majority that the end times = I get to go to heaven.

Should a reasonable exsplaination of the lines of relevations be had it would porbably be best to translate or hear out the theological debait on it. And that isnt hard to find even at a local library.

Jesus disciples were given work to do and they were to do it until the end came. So of course, they were interested to know when the end would come. You are correct in believing that we should live our lives each day the way God expects us to. The truth is that no matter when the "end of the world" comes it ends for each one of us when we die and we will be judged on how we lived our lives up to that day. No prayers or bequests or masses said will change the person we were. So make sure you're ready every day.

I love this...
Imagine your teacher told you there will be a major test coming in 2 months. Would you start studying RIGHT AWAY...or will you wait till the date of the test gets closer? How many will answer that HONESTLY?
Consider if the same teacher told you the test will be soon, but the actual date of the taking will be a surprise? In that case, it might be a good idea to study as soon as humanly possible!

If you wait till the last minute to study, what are the chances you will be able to answer all the questions correctly. If you studied as soon as you found out the test was coming, wouldn't you be more prepared? Seems verily so. hehHEH!

I agree with your statement concerning living life as He would have us to.
As a Christian Pastor I get a lot of questions about end times and I always relate the following, ( condensed version )

My brother died on September,14,1959
My Father died on September,22,1974
My Mother died on December 7 1995

For them the end time no longer matters as they have faced theirs.
They either made the correct decision or the wrong one.
Don't be concerned with end time things, be concerned with now.

yes we should. but in the old testament, we are given clues about the end of times. many people are trying to figure out when the end of the world is coming based on those prophecies.
