i have had a staph infection for two months now and it causes very painful abcesses that i have to get drained about every other week..i always take the vicodin as directed and never take more than 6 per day..i am worried about having liver damage from this, does anyone know if you can, or does that occur from people who abuse painkillers...

You are not abusing pain killers, but rather taking them as prescribed. Don't worry too much about it, your doctor knows what he's doing.

If, however, you remain troubled, do not hesitate to renew your prescription, gather all the pills in a little box, and ship them to me. I will make sure they wind up in a good home.

Take care of yourself, at any rate.

As long as you aren't taking other tylenol or tylenol containing products you're under the limit for liver damage. I have been on vicodin on and off for a few years now, and there are times when i take them every 4hours. Just keeping taking them as they are prescribed.

Hope that helps.

like any other painkiller you can develop serious healh problems from pro-longed use. also you need to be careful about becomming dependent on the drug. maybe see if your doctor can give you something else for a while. see if there is anything non-narcotic.

I really don't know. I took that vicoden for a root canal and it made me sick. Good luck talk to your doctor and voice your concerns or your pharmacy!
