This last quarter I recieved an (I)ncomplete in one of my classes. I showed up for every class session ( minus two ). Did all the work and turned all assignments in. Granted i had a hard time and didn't do very well, at least i tried. Is he allowed to do this? What should i do, im very upset :( and will it affect my financial aid? I have to be a full time student attempting at least 12 units a quarter, but since it was graded as an (I) will i have to reimburse?

If I remember correctly, an I is given to students who for some unforseen reson couldn't do all of the assignments on time and so forth and so on. It won't affect your financial aid. what it does do is give you time the following term , it used to be 30 daya in, to complete your work so the professor CAN grade your overall performance. So don't sweat it too much. The I will change to a final grade soon enough.

Were there others that missed two classes or more, but did not receive an incomplete? If so, you might have a good case.

Usually professors that require 100% attendance state that at the beginning of the semester. If he did, and others who missed two or more classes received an incomplete, you're out of luck.

However, if you really turned in all of your assignments on time, only missed two classes (with a GOOD excuse), weren't tardy for the others, and he did not state that he required 100% attendance, talk to him and plead your case. I'm not saying that the professor is wrong, but he may be willing to give you some leeway.

He should not be allowed to give you an Incomplete if you really have done all the work. But, since you did miss two classes, I'm not really sure. Every teacher has their own rules and regulations. I would talk to the professor about this and see if maybe it was all a mistake.

Since it's an I your professor is giving you a chance to complete your work and get a grade for the course. It won't affect your financial aid unless you do nothing about it for the next semester. Then it will become a failing grade.
