For parents of teenage girls?

What age do you think is good for a girl to wear thongs. My daughter is 13 and will only wear thongs. She dosent flaunt them and unless her shorts slip down you wouldnt know it. Some of her cousins who was over for the summer hurt her feelings and told her only wh***s wore them or strippers. Do you think 13 is too young for thongs? What would you do in my position

If you're comfortable with the idea, and your daughter is comfortable in them, then that's all that counts. Sounds like the cousins were jealous and that their folks won't allow them to wear thongs. I have 6 kids, 3 of them are girls. They don't dress cheap or nasty and two of them wear thongs. (and those two don't worry about the panty line!) Hope those bitter little girls didn't hurt your daughter's feelings! Just a thought...how do the cousins know what wh***s and strippers wear under their outfits?? Maybe they need to get their little minds out of the gutter?

If my 13 year old daughter wanted to wear thongs, I would just let her, and as long as she were comfortable and happy with her decision (and not flaunting them in the wrong way), then it's no one else's business, her cousins were wrong in criticizing her the way they did and were probably just jealous cause they probably don't get to wear or try what they want, and have been convinced by others to think poorly of thongs and such, by hateful, boring people!

Im 20 and was wearing thongs at 13 they are so much more comfortable then normal jocks, and i still wear them to this day.
My mum did not have a problem with me wearing them. I have two young daughters and if i thought they where not flaunting it i would let them.

Definitely way to young for a thong! I think she should wait quite a few years before you allow her to wear those. 13 is a hard age isn't it? No longer little children, but they're not adults yet either. Maybe you could go out and buy her some lovely new underwear and bra sets (if she's wearing a bra yet) and encourage her to wear those. Most if not all people view the thong as a sexy undergarment. being only visible if her shorts slip down may be the reason for wearing one - to get noticed.

It's your choice - have your 13 year old wear them as sexy hoping for the attention or wearing more conservative?

Times are different and many women prefer thongs because you can prevent embarrassing panty lines. If your girl is comfortable with wearing it and defending herself from the "wh..." remark, then she's old enough to wear it. Quite frankly, with teen girls, everything is "wh...rish" if they're not comfortable with it. But, if they tried it, they might stick with it too. I think your girl is fine; it's the other girls who have problems.

im a teen. and i think thongs are fine as long as your daughter isnt flaunting them. as long as she doesnt broadcast the fact that she wears them to get male attention, it doesnt matter. its not too early as long as she acts mature about it. just let her wear them. if you catch any comments from her or her friends (especially male) regarding thongs in a sexual way, then you need to act.

Umm, well, I'm 13 and I think that its waaaayyy too young. ick. Sorry, no offense to her or anything, but thongs are for older women. She's still a girl like me.

Whatever age you realize that big gramma panties give you even bigger wedgies is when thongs are appropriate.
Things aren't always about being sexy.
Thongs are more comfortable in the wedgie department.
You don't have to worry about your pantyline showing through your clothes.

im not a mother, i am a teenager too, and i think 13 is too young for them, if other people her age knew at school, they might think shes easy. i think age 16.
