Oh sure - you can be married without having kids. Both of my oldest friends are married with no kids. I even have a brother in law and an Aunt in law that are married and have no kids. It's a good way, in this existence, to further explore the union of man and woman in my opinion.

I mean once the kids come, it's really all about them, isn't it? The relationship between husband and wife changes to team mates more than lovers - and then will have to go back again once the kids grow and move out. I sometimes think my mother-in-law would better tolerate me if there weren't kids involved.

Either way is very interesting and totally worth doing.

Peace!

The idea that one has to be married before they have a child is old fashioned and unrealistic. Couples having been having children without getting married for centuries upon centuries - and depending on the time during which they lived - nothing majorly tragic has happened. The worst thing that can and will happen is that some people will frown, scold, and harass you about it, especially if you are you, but those are the people who are not living in the real world.

So, no one does not have to be married to have a family.

Of course you can get married and not want kids. And its fine if that is what both you and your partner want. A lot of people think kids are adorable but the thought of having to take care of one 24/7 scares them to death and they just do not want that responsibility. Some people just do not like kids. So to each their own. It's better to know that you don't want kids and not have them than to go ahead and have them and everyone in the family be miserable.

You do not need to have kids when you become married.
Being married is a long time commitment thats supposed to be lasting even if there have been kids and they left home.
Getting married just means to spend your life with the one and only person you deeply love and never want to let go again :)

No, you don't have to have kids when your married. Although, you should definitely discuss this issue before you get married to make sure that you are on the same page with your significant other b/c this is an important subject, other wise y'all could have serious issues.

Of course you don't have to have kids if you're married. People who don't want kids shouldn't be having them. Just be consistent with the birth control.

It's not a contractual obligation or anything. As a matter of fact my husband and I changed our minds about having kids after we got married not wanting any.
