hang around your friends a lot so they get used to seeing you in them. ive been wearing my glasses since 4th grade and now my friends think its weird when my glasses are off cause theyre so used to seeing me in them. i`m getting contacts soon though so theyre gunna have to adapt to seeing me with blue eyes and no contacts soon =]

If you already have them , put them on and enjoy your new found vision. If you haven't picked any yet, go to a reputable optical shop and let the optician help you select the right pair for you.
Most people, when buying eyewear, have a tendency to either oversize or undersize the frame. An experienced optician can help size you properly.

Just put them on and say, "what do you think of my vision crutches? My eyes need a little support". Make a joke first, that way they see it won't bother you.
I had them in 5th grade AND they were the thick, big, welfare glasses too. Needless to say, I didn't wear them much and my eyes got much worse because of it.

Just wear them. I always pick cute glasses. Right now, I have cat eye glasses. I'm just too cute.

You may get a little good natured ribbing about them at first but if you dont make a big deal about it then nobody else will either. You may even hear comments about how you look smarter or older. These are your friends, lighten up.
