I am looking for a place to stay in DC area for visiting the Museums and WW II Memorial. Not much expensive (less than $100). I am planning to park my car and travel by Metro. So preferably near a metro station. Any suggestion. Thanks.

Try the Days Inn in the 4400 block of Connecticut Ave NW. They're going to be kind of close to your price limit but there's free parking right there, the neighborhood is really, really safe and the Red Line metro is about 2 blocks away. You can get a room in the suburbs for a little less but you'll spend so much time getting back and forth on the Metro that it might not be worth it!

If you do look into the 'burbs, check the Arlington, VA hotels; that's the closest-in suburb. Many of the budget hotels are in Springfield or the further-out parts of Alexandria and there's no Metro within walking distance so you'll have to depend on the hotel shuttle.

The last time we went, we stayed in the Hotel Harrington at 436 11th Street, N.W. (corner of 11th & E Streets, N.W.) Washington, DC 20004-4389. 2006 rate for smallest room for 1 or 2 is $89 plus tax, going up to $99 in 2007. This is a fabulous location, close to the Mall and the White House. The place is rather worn looking, but it was clean and the best deal we could find for the location.

Here's another search on Orbitz

Finally, here are a few more from the Washington Post.
All except the last one (in Virginia) are walking distance to a subway.
Good luck!
