first off, Baptists, Methodists, and Lutherans are Protestants. Protestants and Catholics make up Christians who believe that Jesus Christ is God.
Agnostic means that you believe in a Higher Power, just not God, persay.
Atheists don't believe in God. They believe in the theory of Evolution or don't question their origins.
Buddhists believe that Buddha is God and that the point in life is to reach a state of Nirvana, which has only truly been achieved by Buddha himself.
Hinduists worships cows, gods of the harvest. they are a very nature-oriented people. They are pagan meaning that they have more than one God.
All i know about Jehovahs Witnesses is that they don't celebrate Christmas or birthdays.
Jews elieve in God and the Messiah but they don't believe that Jesus is God.
I don't know much about Mormons except that they have a separate Bible, they are a newer religion, and that Joeseph Smith is their Messiah, so to speak.
Muslims believe in Allah. They have the 5 pillars of Islam. Almsgiving(giving to the poor), Faith, Prayer, Haijj(pilgrimage to Mecca), and Fasting.
Protestants broke away from the Catholics beginning with Martin Luther's 95 theses that were posted on the door of the Wittenburg Church in Wittenburg Germany in 1517. It started out with Calvinists and Lutherans then broke up further into the denominations we see today.
Scientologists believe that the point in life is to use Science to benefit the world. they also have some very odd practices such as silent birth among others.
I know very little about Taoists except they are a peace-loving people in Asia.
Wiccans use magic and witchcraft to do their bidding. correct me if i'm wrong, but that's what i've heard about them.
Take all of these with a bit of salt considering i did no further research than what i already know. I hope i did not offend anyone with my answer.

Scientology
Scientology is an applied religious philosophy. When I say "applied" I mean you actually use it in your life to change or improve existing conditions. This is different from a religious practice. All religions if you learn about them have a basic philosphy, but they also have certain dogma, rituals and observances, and a certain faith or belief is required. There is nothing wrong with this, but Scientology is not that kind of religion. It does not intrude on anyones faiths of beliefs particularly in the area of God , the Supreme Being, or the Infinite. This area is left totally up to the indivdual, which is why you can be a practicing Jew,for example and still use and apply the priniciples of Scientology in your life. It does not conflict. If anything it will enhance your understanding of your chosen religious practice.
You can have no specific religious beliefs and still benefit from using it.
And it is only true for you according to your own observation and experience with it.
It is a non denominational religion . The dictionary definition that applies:
Religion: The spiritual or emotional attitude of one who recognises the existence of superhuman power or powers.
The most basic principle of Scientology is that YOU are your own immortal soul, that this is not a "thing" you HAVE but what YOU actually are.
The whole purpose of Scientology is to increase an individual's understanding and awareness of himself. And thereby his native abilities .
When you do this the sphere and zone of his positive influence increases and moves outward into his life, his family ,his friends, his groups and mankind which he is part of.
How this result is achieved is the "technology" of Scientology, which was developed by L.Ron Hubbard after his extensive research and the discoveries he made, about the human spirit. The basic religious philosophy and knowledge of Scientology is very old, going back 10,000 years at least to the Veda or Vedic Hymns from the East. The developement of the technology is new.
He completed his research before his death in 1986 and left all of his results and copyrights
to the Church of Scientology along with most of his considerable estate., when he died.
He published a book in 1951 to communicate the basic principles he discovered called: " Scientology The Fundementals of Thought"
There are currently over 8 million Scientologists in more that 150 countries world wide. However we are a new religion, only 55 years old.
The true story of Scientology as a religion goes like this:
1. A philosopher developes a philosophy about life and death.
2. People find it interesting.
3. People find it works.
4. People pass it along to others.
5. It grows.

Buddhism is both a religion and a philosophy or "way of life". Its status as a religion is contested because Buddhism has no god(s), however, both academics and most governments recognize it as a religion for a variety of reasons.
Basic Buddhism has Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path.
The Four Noble Truths:
1. Dukkha: Life is suffering. Dukkha means "that which is difficult to bear" and is often translated as suffering.
2. Trsna: Suffering comes from desire (thirst, craving, attachment); in other words, suffering comes from the belief that if desires (to have, remove, or control) are fulfilled, a person will always be happy or fulfilled.
3. Nirvana: Suffering can be ended.
4. The Eightfold path is a way to end suffering.
The Eightfold path:
1. Samma-Ditthi: right thinking or right understanding
2. Samma-Sankappa: right attitude
3. Samma-Vaca: right speaking
4. Samma-Kammanta: right action or acting right
5. Samma-Ajiva: right living or right life
6. Samma-Vayama: right effort or right direction of one's energy
7. Samma-Sati: right mindfulness or self-awareness
8. Samma-Samadhi: right meditation
Samma doesn't mean right as opposed to wrong, but more along the lines of whole, complete, or summit.
Like most religions or philosophies, Buddhism has sects that believe in different things. The Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path are constant.
The best way to learn what various religions believe in if social interaction helps you is to take a class. The largest problem you'll have here is that it takes a lot more than a few lines to explain any one religion because they are all much more than what can be written here. If you can't or don't want to take a class, there are secular textbooks available at most book outlets that deal with introductions to the world's religions. A good one will present various religions without prosetylizing, bias, or bashing.

Agnostic= Maybe there is a God.
Atheist= Believe there is no God
Baptist= Offshoot of the Catholic religion
Buddhism= Philosophy of Buddha
Catholic= Claim to be the church started by Jesus. Research quickly proves that to be false
Hinduism= I don't know
Jehovah's Witness= The bible is the inspired Word of God from start to finish. Paradise will be restored on the earth, and people will live there forever. Jehovah is God, Jesus is the Son of God and the Messiah. 144,000 will rule the restored earthly Paradise from Heaven with Christ as stated in the book of Revelation.
Jewish= Still waiting for the messiah. They rejected and killed the real one that was already here with God's message of salvation.
Methodist= Offshoot of the Catholic religion
Mormon= Religion made up by some guy in the woods. The bible says not to add to it. They did with the book of Mormon.
Lutheran= Protested the Vatican's false doctrines and practices then still followed false Catholic teachings and made some of their own.
Muslim= Completely made-up religion with no truth. TRUE Islam promotes killing people. TRUE Christianity promotes love,
peace, and never killing anyone.
Protestant= Offshoot of the Catholic religion.
Scientologist= Very big with Hollywood people. That should be enough to tell you that it's pure crap.
Taoist= I forget.
Wiccan= The religion of delusional teenagers, especially teenage girls who worship nature, trees, cow dung, etc.
Members are losers who can't relate at all to reality. They live in a fantasy world that makes them feel important, when they are just really misguided air-heads who like to dress up in costumes and play make-believe.

Agnostic is not a religion - it refers to a person who doesn't know or is seeking. Antheism is not a religion - it is the belief that there is NO God
Baptist, Catholic, Methodist, Lutheran, Protestant are all Christian religions. This means they believe in Christ as the Messiah.
Jehovah Witness do not accept Christ as the Son of God but I am unclear on their other belief.
Judaism believe in God - same God as Christians (and Muslims really) but do not accept Jesus as the Messiah.
Mormon claim to accept Christ but also have additional beliefs regarding a separate "testament" of Christ aka the book of Mormon.
Muslims follow the teachings of Mohammed.
Buddhism, Taoism and Hinduism I believe are more philosophies of life.
Scientology is a religion whose inventor stated he was inventing a religion but whose adherents don't believe that.
Wiccan is referred to as a neo-pagan religion that I understand is very nature based

that's a loaded question
It's not a matter of belief.
I am an atheist. There are no gods to believe in. That includes the thousand of gods created in the minds of humans over the past several thousands of years and beyond. The only evidence of higher powers is the beliefs of others, and books full of the beliefs of others. That's not enough for an atheist.
I am asked this question often. Why don't you believe in god?
There are no gods to believe in, and it's unecessary to "just believe"
Also Atheism is organized, but is not recognized as a religion by the U.S. government, nor would I want it to be. We are without religion and without belief in things that don't exist.

I can only speak for Wiccans because I am one.
Just like Christianity and any other religion, Wicca has different denominations so going into the details would take forever. Basically, Wicca is an Earth-based religion, which the principle is "do no harm".

Atheist = Believes in no religion
Agnostic = Believes there is no way to know if a religion is correct or not.
Scientologist = Believes a Science fiction writer (L. Ron Hubbard)has the answers to the universe. They believe that there are alien spirits residing in us and that if we attain true understanding of them we can heal ourselves. They believe that there is no need for psychiatry or psychiatric drugs because people can heal themselves. They believe that the brain is just a switchboard. It does not store memories or thought.

The only one that I know form sure about is Mormomn, so I will not speculate about the others like most people like to do. I can tell you that we believe in the Bible, we ARE Christians. Joseph Smith is looked at like a prophet, not someone who is worshipped at all. We also have the Book of Mormon which is what we believe to be accounts of Jesus teaching in the Americas. We do not practice polygamy!!For more info e-mail me.
