I'm trying to play Oblivion, and it's acting all jerky and slow. I wanted to know if it's because of my processor. I have a pretty up-to-date computer. Could anything else cause this?

A 3500+ is supposed to be about the same as a 3.5GHz Pentium 4 (just add the decimal in to get 3.500)

That is a pretty up to date computer, unless you do crazy things it should be good, but check if it is a software problem by scanning for virii and letting "Adaware" scan for spyware. If neither fix your problem, then it is very likely that your problem is that you don't have enough memory for your computer.

Speed wise no, performance wise close. First thing i would do is run a defrag on your hard drive. I have loaded games that played super crappy but as soon as i defragged they ran fine (3200+, 2gb ram and a 6600gt Invidia card). Also check to make sure you have enough ram, I would suggest at minimum 512, 1gb preferred and more if you can afford it.

it's much better than p4 3ghz
according to AMD 3500+ means it's better than a p4 clocked at 3.5ghz "3800+ is better than 3.8ghz p4"
note:obilvion is a very heavy game that can bring any proceesor to it's knee even the top model FX-62 from AMD
