Civil engineers build the targets.
While Chemical engineers like myself make the explosives for the bombs.

But seriously, civil engineers tend to work on projects of infrastructure. Transportation systems, buildings, football stadiums, etc. Mechanical engineers are more geared to, well, mechanical things like machine parts, engines, and all kinds of equipment. There is certainly some crossover in the disciplines and folks in both fields often work together.

well the basic difference between them is that the civil engineers works on the projects of infrastructure.they job is to design,supervise and complete that project in min period of time n wid min money.they have given the knowledge of the materials which they have to used in that paerticular project.
but the mechanicals engg works on the designing of the machines,automobiles etc.their work is mainly in the field of designing of machines and their parts.
