Pet Insurance for your dog and cat

Family pets are a part of your life. They are your companions, guardians and best friends. But just like any loved one, they can fall into harm's way. You should be aware of the dangers your pet can come across and the financial strain it will put on your savings. From bee stings and allergic reactions to swallowing a foreign object or breaking a bone, your pet could easily be hurt or injured and veterinary treatments may cost you more than thought. The last thing you need to worry about is an unexpected expense.

PetCare Pet Insurance Programs start at under $10/month. It's a small investment that will help you prepare for a secure and happy life for both you and your pet!

Ask your local vet, pet insurance is a life-saver; it takes the pressure off during those horrible times when you have to make a choice before treating your pet or terminating their life because you can't afford to pay for the treatment. You can try petinsurance.com.

just so you know, most policies will reimburse you within 30 days of you submitting the bill. I don't know of any that will pay the vet directly since most vets won't accept direct payment. But if you have a free Credit Card you can charge it and then submit the bill.

Btw, most pet insurance co's won't pay for "conditions inherent in the breed" and make sure what's cover under accidents.

Alternatively, if you have a Banfield (petsmart) near your house they offer a kind of PPO/HMO program where you pay so much a year and then pay a co-pay.

good luck.

Go to the vet's office and ask for a pamphlet on pet health insurance. I've seen them at my vet so I know they're out there. If they don't have any, ask for a number or some other way to access it.

PetSmart and Banfield Pet Hospitals offer a Wellness Plan that is like insurance. It covers vaccines, office visits, dental work, and many other things. I have it for all three of my dogs.

most vets have brochures in their office or do an internet search. It is sometimes not the best deal to have the insurance, BUT if you have a puppy or kitten it will save you lots of money since they will need many shots and neutering, and other care in their first year.
