Aw, hence he must have been successful!

The bible tells us it will never pass away, so maybe that has something to do with the truthfulness of it, and how long it has lasted.

For the same reason we know about the pharoahs, emperors, and other people that lived during that time period. It's something called writing.
Just for the record, the bible is just like any other writing...it reflects the people and times that it was written in. A good example is the difference between God in the new testament and God in the old testament. In the new testament, you see civilization maturing enough that people are getting away from sacrificing animals, therefore God no longer requires these and has also changed into a "gentler" God. You no longer see God getting angry enough to deluge the world in a flood, or sending down plagues of locusts.
To get back on track..there are alot of religions out there that are still practiced and go back farther than Jesus. (Oh, and every religion has it's own miracles by the way.) The only reason you wouldn't know of them is if you only had a one-track mind and didn't bother to read.

I didn't say he was unsuccessful. I said he did not reach the Pharisees and Saducees. He reached the Gentiles, Samaratins, and even the Romans, but the people he really came to preach to, the Jews, for the most part never did accept him and they still don't today. Jesus never fails at anything. There are some Jews today converting to Christianity, and the Bible tells us that a lot more will do so. May God bless you.

People recieve orientations from many sourses. The Pharisees and the Sandhedren where covering their backside when they rejected Jesus the Messiah. They could not and would not except a suffering messiah on their behalf or anyone elses. It seems that political advantage overrules freedom of thought or expession. We do know that the Essenes of the day were much more on target and see clearer than anyone else.
No one anticipated a suffering Messiah, The Palm sunday celebration was for a victory messiah against the Romans.

I think he was successful, I just do not see him like the born again Christians do. I see him as a teacher and a leader, but not someone that you should completely surrender your life to. If God were around he want us to be happy and make this world better, not be so uptight and wondering about him all of the time. Think of it this way, Jesus was also a man, meaning he had a family and friends. You do not think that they did not have some fun with one another. They drank and were merry as well. Jesus just wanted us to live.

Jesus Christ was not unsuccessful, and nobody says he was. He is the most successful person ever. He always did the Father's will and this man reigns today as Lord and Christ. By believing in him, we can be saved. "He that hath the son hath life. He that hath not the son of God hath not life." I John 5:12.

He was extremely successful - he was resurrected after 3 days. There were thousands crucified by the Romans - He was the only one that came back from the grave. Pretty impressive I'd say. And this was witnessed by thousands of people at the time who all followed His teachings. I see many more reasons to follow than not.
