It has to be a question that will lead you to the right village not just tell you what village the person at the crossroads is from. You only get one question, you don't get a follow up question. And there is only one person at the crossroad so you can't ask what the other person would say- there is no other person.

Ask the guy to point in the direction of where he lives. The truthtellers will obviously tell the truth and point to the good village, while the liar will also point to the good village.

You ask one side what the other side would say "path a" leads to. Since the liar is always involved, if it said it was the truthtellers village, then you would know it was the liar's village. If it was the liar's village, you'd know it was the truth teller's village. It's just like that movie "Labyrinth"

ask one of the what would the other person say if you asked the question "which way is the right way" if you ask the lying one he would point to the wrong way. if you ask the truth one he would point to the wrong way also. so you go the opposite way
