Mary didn't have SEX before marriage. You are free to have as many children as you wish outside of wedlock, you just can't have sex. Simple.

First of all, Mary was married when she gave birth to Jesus. She was not married when she conceived Jesus because God miraculously caused Jesus life to be transferred to her womb before she became Joseph's wife. People were designed to raise children in a family unit that includes a mother and a father. If you believe in the Bible then you will follow Gods laws regarding marriage and sexual intercourse. Sexual relations are not permissible outside of marriage according to the Bible. As a result, you wouldn't be able to have children unless you were married.

To the first answerer: The "immaculate conception" is NOT the idea that Mary was a virgin when she gave birth to Jesus. You're referring to "The Virgin Birth." "The Virgin Birth" and "The Immaculate Conception," believe it or not, are not the same thing.
"The Immaculate Conception" refers to the idea that Mary was born without the stain of Original Sin, thereby being an immaculate vessel to conceive god's child.
Mary was pregnant before Joseph married her. In fact, when he found out she was pregnant, he almost didn't marry her.
Come on folks, read your Bible to get these simple answers. It's embarrassing when the heretic agnostic heathen (me) has to give you the answers! :)

Jesus’ brothers and sisters -
Jesus’ family included His brothers James, Joses, Juda, Simon and His sisters (Mk.6:3, Matt.13:55-56, Gal.1:19 below)
Matt.1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
Mk.6:3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us (Matt.13:55-56 below)? And they were offended at him.
Matt.13:55 Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?
Matt.13:56And his sisters, are they not all with us (Mk.6:3 above)? Whence then hath this [man] all these things?
Gal.1:19 But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother (Mk.6:3, Matt.13:55 above)..

Mary was married to Joseph. did you miss that part of bible class.?? she was, however a virgin, which is what we should be when we marry. then kids, and so on... of course, this is not during the biblical days and whole bunches have changed. I was NOT a virgin when I married and I wouldn't have it any other way.
