Any ideas on room decor??

My family just recently bought a new house and im going to paint my room. Im 16. what color should i choose? i dont want any really bright colors cz im gonna move out of their house in abou 3 years. so does anyone have any decorating ideas? Colors that i like are blue, green, maybe red...and all the shades of blue!

I would paint all the walls a beige or deep tan, the ceiling white, then buy a solid or a simple (like paisly) print-or-plain comforter ( I think you need to choose either red or blue- green would look weird) . Get some lamp shades that match or are a crisp, clean white, and accesorize with simpilistic pictures, you could even make your own, just paint a piece of card stock black, then take your primary color (the color of the comforter) and just paint thin abstract lines. Get a frame that matches your wood and bam! easy elegance; and since it's neutral, can be turned into any room once you move out.

Its only paint...you can always repaint it. I used to staple/glue/nail anything and everything to my walls and cielings, including a fishnet, street signs. You only live once! Paint each wall a different shade of blue in the same family/tone, lighter is better. Then do a mural or just some painting around the border on the top or bottom, if you feel creative, some kind of color that imatates what you like, nature? green vines or red flowers? blue dolphins?

Old furniture is adequately interesting to be the central feature of a room but be sure never to mix antique furniture with different styles. The general rule is that if you have one very quality piece of antique furniture, the other, more reserved pieces, should stay out of the limelight.

In bigger rooms you can place two or three pieces of antique furniture without overdoing it. Decorating a home is a lifelong process that changes as you adjust. It’s an unfolding experience that lets you express yourself. Enjoy the time you spend doing it.

I like all those shades of brown, taupe and pink tones--they look great together and you can add your own things to it --then when you move out your room will still be great for other things ===
You can get a pretty bed spread with a design and go from their with your theme and colors!
