It would be imposible in some states to discern illegal from legal, but around here they stick out like a turd in a punch bowl! I'm from California so I can tell you the difference almost at a glance. The few times I might be wrong would be because of false documentation. I grew up watching the American Latino kids pick on illegal kids which were actually better mannered because of their status. Illegal status was no secret in California and I can pick em' out. So let's start with the obvious. If your Legal, don't be so arrogant as to toss a fit if your asked for Identification. If you fit the discription of an illegal try and assimilate a little more and get over it! Too sensitive to show proper identification? I show mine every time with nothing to hide!

If one does not have a certified birth certificate, driver's license have marks for authenticity as do "Legal Permanent Resident" cards. There are electronic watermarks for authenticity on many types of identification. Jobs that require proof of identification for the employee or patron give instructions for acceptable sources of proof of citizenship and ways of identifying bogus ids. It is the Social Security Administration that is beneficial in "matches" as it is common for illegals to use SSN from deceased persons and use name and SSN and have bogus id's produced.

Between the prices and the social stupidity, there's nothing about California that would lead me to want to ever live there. I think in many ways that California is the core of the whole illegal immigration debate, I think that in the end, that state has done some really counter-productive things for america, especially from the law enforcement standpoint. CA's a big state, though, so their temper tantrums and social problems are felt all over the country. If they'd get THEIR stretch of the US/Mexico border closed off, that'd probably nip a lot of crime in the bud right there.
The other states, though, along the border, are going to have to build their own sections of the border fence. Once that's all done, then our police departments will have an easier life of it, trying to deal with all the drug dealers and the rest of the people trying to screw up our country.

Finally someone who understands what I have been experiencing. I can spot them too. Assimilation would be the answer for them to hide a little better, but they refuse to do it. I know they are being told by the far left latino activist not to assimilate because of Aztlan. They want to take their so called states back so why should they change? There are charter schools paid for by the citizens tax money that are teaching this. La Raza and Mencha teach this also.

I know one that drives a brand new $25,000.00 car, with a legal driver's license, has a checking account, health insurance, and doesn't and has never received government benefits. Don't stereotype people. You cannot judge a book by its cover. You say they stick out like a turd in a punch bowl? Do most "illegals" you look at, dress like they are in an Abercrombie & Fitch ad and have the things named above. Because, my husband does.

You can pick most of them out because they are the ones riding bikes and not driving cars. If they are the ones who drive, illegally, they slow down when a cop/ambulence/fire truck is around, then when they pass they start driving crazy again.
Also, they are the ones who never bothered to learn English. I was in the store and a hispanic woman approached me, pointing to objects that she couldn't reach. She pointed and said "dos". I should've just looked at her and said "recomiendo que tu aprendas ingles, mujer!" and walked off (but I didn't, I want our money to stay in the US).
It is true, they are the polite ones. The legals have no manners.

Show proof of citizenship or a certified birth certificate when going to the hospital, enrolling children in school, getting a driver's license, when applying for welfare, when buying a home, when opening a bank account....
And having to have this information confirmed...isn't the Internet a wonderful thing.
