In my opinion, Religious is belonging to a specific sect, or religion ex: Catholic, Buddish, Monk. While Spiritual is not classified among any category. Spiritual is believing in a higher sense of living, empowering yourself and others in what is right and moral. Tao is an example of a spiritual belief.
I myself was raised as a Christian, however, I do not follow the strict rules and regulations of the church. I choose to follow what is written in the book. :)

I am a spiritual Christian, not a religious (belonging to any one denomination). That to me is important because I have been to many different churches and denominations over my lifetime and found that all the man-made religious ideals are flawed. Believeing in what the Bible says, having a relationship with God and obeying His guidance is spiritual, no religious organization involved.

I'm Spiritual. Spiritual is your personal relationship with the Lord and the things of God and living by them. Religious is traditional and binding.

Spiritual feels the presence of a higher power, and probably isn't quite sure how to describe the higher power to others. Religious thinks there's a higher power because someone told him so, and while he probably can't feel the power, he will swear that there is power and only he knows what it is, but he dummies up when you ask him to explain clearly.

I consider myself to be spiritual, because I am more concerned with my relationship with God than I am with specific practices. Religion refers to practicing specific disciplines. One doesn't need to be referring to God to be religious. I have friends who work out religiously. I have others who go to the bar religiously and a neighbor who mows his lawn religiously. It's a discipline of action that has nothing to do with God. The reason it is associated with God is because of the legalism that exists in most religions - rules on what to eat, what to wear, who to associate with, etc. That's why I chose Christianity - no rules. Just be saved and trust God. He will make the change from the inside out instead of the legalistic (religious) way from the outside in.

Spiritual. Spirituality is felt. Religion is an excuse to kill people who believe differently.

Religion is the practice of outdated rituals in an attempt to get closer to god. Faith is belief beyond reasoning and the development of a personal relationship with God. I am spiritual.

I'm more spiritual than I am dogmatic.

This is the best I can explain it right now: Religion is dogma, which is obtained by reading books. Spiritual is when you feel with your soul.

i'm spiritual. If we look at the different religions of the world we see how it divides and causes hate and even violence. I believe God wants to unite us, he is the very expression of love.
