I am cooking and I boiled water with salt for 4 corn things, how long do I boil it?

BE DARING....GIVE THIS A TRY:

Milk Boiled Sweet Corn on the Cob!
This is the only way I make corn on the cob! You will never boil corn in just water again, once you try this! This method produces a very tender and sweet corn on the cob, I promise!
6-8 ears corn, husks and silk removed
1 1/4 cups milk
3 teaspoons salt (or to taste)
3-4 tablespoons sugar
1/4 cup butter (you can use up to 1/2 cup butter)
6-8 servings

1. Fill a large stock pot (about an 8-quart) half full with water.
2. Add in the milk, salt, sugar and butter.
3. Bring to a boil, then add in the corn cobs.
4. Reduce heat to a simmer, and allow corn to cook for 8-12 minutes, or until tender, depending on size of corn (try not to over cook the corn as it will become tough!).

Once pot has come to a boil, drop in cobs. Forget the salt, only makes corn tough. When pot returns to a full boil, in about 4-6 minutes, turn off and cover. Let sit at least 5 minutes, no longer than 10.

A good rule of thumb while grilling is to put the corn in the pot while toasting the buns for brats, burgers, or dogs, which will be the last thing on the grill. Bring in the grilled goodies, turn off the heat for the corn and cover. By the time everyone has put all the extras on their meat of choice, the corn is ready to pop on their plates.

UGH!!! Don't boil the corn if it's fresh corn on the cob. Heck even if it's frozen don't boil it...2 other options that are better

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Lay each piece of corn on a piece of foil, rub with butter and sprinkle with Lawrys seasoning salt or you favorite dried spice. Wrap in foil and bake for 30 minutes

Or place corn on a microwave safe plate in microwave and cook for 5 minutes at 100% power. The kernels stay firm and not soggy like boiling.

If from a can. just heat with a little water until warm...it's already cooked.

I bring the water to a boil, add a little sugar and salt. Drop the corn in and turn off the heat and cover the pot. Leave it about 8 minutes (5 for really fresh corn).

I usally boil the water and put a half cup of suger in it. After boiling the water drop the ears of corn in, cover and boil for about 10 minutes. The suger makes the corn extra sweet. And keep in mind that white corn is much sweeter then yellow corn.

If it's a bag of corn soak it in warm water in the sink to thaw it. Then turn the stove on at medium and wait a minute until you see water bubble a little bit. Then pour the now thawed corn into the pan, and let cook for 3-5 minutes.

Start the water to boil. (in theory you should go pick and shuck the corn while the water is boiling)
I add a pinch of sugar instead of salt.
When it comes to a boil at the corn.
When it comes to a boil again, it's done.

To boiled corn just touch the corn if its soft thats means cook already..corn is a good food..

Corn things? Are you refering to corn on the cob? I boil mine for about 8-10 minutes, then turn the fire down lower and let them simmer on low heat for about 15 minutes more. It makes them very tender. I also put crab boil in mine to spice them up.

If its corn that is fresh....like still in the shuck.....you boil it for 20 min....if its frozen corn on the cob, you only cook it for 7-8 minutes. If you overcook it, it takes the juicy taste out.
