Before kittens get all of their distemper shots, they are prone to upper respiratory infections and having crusty, weepy eyes are a symptom of this. The fact that the cat is eating, drinking, and playing is a good sign and the infection should clear up on its own.

If the cat becomes lethargic, stops eating and drinking, bring him to a vet. This could be a sign that he can't get better on his own. Otherwise get his kitty shots as soon as you can so that he isn't as prone to the infections. Good luck!!

Seems to me alot of kittens have this problem. I would get some warm water and a soft cloth or cottonball. I would then keep it at clean as you can without over doing it. Ive had kittens get over this in about a week, on their own. But if the lid starts getting pinker and is not clearing up, then yes, the vet will give you an ointment to put in the little ones eyes. Maybe, if you cant afford to much, you can get the vet to just sell the ointment to you. Ive taken cats in before without an appointment and they have sold antibiotics to me since I already knew the condition, gl!

It's probably a touch of an upper respiratory infection. Cats can get them pretty easy if they haven't gotten their shots..like kittens that are too young to get vaccinated. There is an ointment that you can get from your vet to put in his eyes a few times a day which should clear them up. If you've noticed the mother, or any other other kittens or cats that you might have with runny eyes, then they need to get an antibiotic to take care of it. It will usually clear up on it's own but if they haven't had their shots then it takes longer, and can really make the kitten feel like crap.
I have kittens that are 4 weeks old and one of them is really bad with the upper resp. infec. that he doesn't want to eat or do much of anything. So you need to get him looked at to get a proper diagnosis, but I will bet you that that is what it is.

Sounds like sore eyes. Until you can get him to the vet, warm up some milk, dip a clean rag in it, and gently place the rag on his eye. Do this every day, three times a day until he gets better.

One my my kittens had sore eyes really bad and the warm milk helped.

Your kitten probably has an eye infection. Call the vet.

It could be an eye infection or it could be a mosquito bite. Sometimes another kitten will scratch their eye and make it sore and get infected.

It's conjunctivitis. Don't touch your eyes after touching the cat's eye or you may get it. Wipe the cat's eye with a warm, damp washcloth.

If it was born that way, and the mother didn't kill it, then it's probably nothing to worry about, animals kill unperfect babies, by nature. If it happened since it was born, I'd suspect it got stung by a bee or bitten by a spider?
