Haha, thanks guys. My coworker was trying to convince me that tapioca is made of mouse eyes/parts... i know better of course! just trying to make the work day go by faster. Thanks for your responses!!!

hehe...good question.

The technical answer would be no...it's actually a root starch. But, can we ever be certain of exactly what goes into our food? Did you know that the FDA has technical and regulatory experts in "filth and extraneous materials"? They actually look at samples and decide (based on certain conditions) how many rat/mice hairs are acceptable or how large the insect parts are to be acceptable in food products. Food for thought eh?

No, it's made from starch from the root of the cassava, or yuca plant.

The cassava plant is native to South America and the West Indies, where its thick, fibrous roots are used in a variety of forms: bread flour, laundry starch, an alcoholic brew, and tapioca pudding.

I hope not but a dont think so. Because there was this one episode of Pet Stars and this little mouse ate tapioca pudding out of his owners mouth. And let me tell you it was GROSS!

This is so funny, I remember asking my Mother to make "Fish Eyes Pudding". Never heard it called mouse eyes. though.
