I'm trying to make a local backup of muy email Inbox

Under the File menu slect Import and Export. Select Export to file in the options box that comes up. A new options box will come up that has the the file types you can select, one of which is a pst file. Follow the prompts from there.
Note: Using File > New > outlook Data File will give you another place to store emails. However, if you are just trying to make a back up for archival purpuses, the Import/Export function takes less steps.

Click File -> New -> Outlook Data File. Select the format and give a name. The new personal folder will appear with the given name. Now simply drag the emails from your inbox to the personal folder.

With outlook open, go to File, New, Outlook Data File. Once you have created the file you can copy your inbox to it. (if you drag and drop it will cut&paste so be careful)
