And what lesson should we Christians draw from this lesson about making fun of God's anointed one?

From there Elisha went up to Bethel. While he was on his way, some small boys came out of the city and jeered at him. "Go up baldhead," they shouted, "go up baldhead!" The prophet turned and saw them, and he cursed them in the name of the Lord. Then two shebears came out of the woods and tore forty two of the children to pieces. (2 Kings 2:23-24 NAB)

PRAISE YOU JE$U$! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH! PLEASE GIVE ME UNDERSTANDING TO THIS PASSAGE OF SCRIPTURES FROM THE TRUE BROTHERS AND SISTERS OUT THERE IN YOUR WINDERFUL INTERNET LAND!
IN THE NAME OF JESUS I PRAY,
AMEN

Truly these are the workings of an all-powerful benevolent deity, who loves all mankind and waits only for sinners to accept the word of God into their hearts.
Unless you make fun of an old man's bald head, in which case He sends bears to maul you.

Elisha did not curse “little children,” as the KJV translates the phrase (2 Kings 2:23). The Hebrew expression frequently connotes young, unmarried men of any age up to about thirty. This was evidently a gang of young hoodlums, instigated by the heathen priests of Baal to ridicule Elijah’s successor. The jeering exhortation to “go up, thou baldhead,” (2 Kings 2:23) was both a sarcastic reference to Elijah’s supposed ascension (which they disbelieved) and a personal insult to God’s chosen prophet. This challenge to Jehovah and the authority of His prophet could not be excused, so God made good on a warning issued long before: “And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me; I will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children” (Leviticus 26:21, 22).

There are some things to consider here.
These were youths, or young boys...at least 12 or probably much older, since there don't seem to be any adults around, and there seem to be quite a crowd of them, since there seems to be more than 42 of them.
What they were shouting was much more than a taunt about his bald head. They were saying that he had no spiritual covering. They were blaspheming a prophet of the Lord, something the Lord does not condone.

Now, if you found yourself surrounded by a gang of young teenagers who were calling out particularly nasty names at you...you might feel threatened. Since I've been in that actual situation, I can tell you, it is a frightening thing.
Yeah, I would not have wished for them to be killed...but a couple of bears would have been welcome.

GOD ALREADY DELIVERED ELIJAH TO A SAFE PLACE.

NOW ELISHA IS OUT IN THE FIELD AND A MOBSTER GANG OF 42 ABOUT 25 YEARS OLD EACH WITH NOTHING TO DO BUT CAUSE ALL THE TROUBLE WE KNOW CAN RESULT.
FOR EXAMPLE: This man taught his children right, they did wrong.
Gen.34: 25,28-30; These two young men about age 25, 26, [ were called youth and children in those days ], were very destructive, and Jacob disowned them from inheritance.

Psalm 80 two:6 refers back to the youngsters of God as "gods" already. Jesus affirmed this message in John 10:34-36. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints preaches the Bible in this challenge, despite if no person else dares to. Plus we've extra references, such as you be conscious. And no, we neither disagree with President Kimball nor anticipate any destiny prophet to teach something distinctive.

you must read the passage in the KJV it is not meaning they were literally making fun of him without hair but actually bald head is a idiom for not having a spiritual covering. they were mocking him as a prophet like saying you really aint nothing without Elijah your spiritual leader. Elisha was submitted to this man of God, so the attack was pretty blasphemous but the hebrew word used for children was used not for like infant but literally young man. and he pronounced judgement on them and instant judgement came but for christians this is not for us in this sense back then their was no sacrifice for sin and christ now is the sacrifice and now we have grace so not saying God cant swiftly judge today but you must understand what true judgement is it is not the fist of God coming down in retribution but rather his hand of deliverance being moved of away allowing desctruction for the wickedness.

Not a good thing to make fun of the Prophets of God..
Act 5:4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

Act 5:5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.
