"Arab" is not a language, it is an indication of someone's native region. Arabic is the name of the language spoken in many Middle Eastern countries, and the word for "peace" in Arabic is "salaam."

I don't know how it's spelled, but you can say it phonetically, "Al-hem-de-lay-la"... I think it translates into "Praise be to God". A general happy, nice greeting. not exactly peace, by its all I remember from hanging out with a really cool guy from Morocco. And Cheery L needs get out more.
