I know it builds muscle under the fat but someone said that after it builds under the fat that it starts to help you lose it.
Is this true?

When you lose weight you lose it from all over your body. You cannot spot reduce as many gurus would have you believe.

Muscles will build under fat, but the only way to see the muscle is to reduce body fat. That is why body builders have such a low body fat percentage...to see the muscle definition.

A higher protein, lower bad carb diet should help. Pick up a body builder magazine from the store, read only the female stories...they are very interesting.

Good luck.

Well, first off, do not stop eating. Maybe eat a little less, and a little healthier then you may do now, but don't stop eating completely, that's when your body actually starts burning muscle INTO fat. Cardiovascular exercise is the best way to burn body fat especially in the stomach area. Also drink lots of water through out the day and try not to consumer ANY carbs after 8 or 9pm.If you get hungry late at night drink a tall glass of ice water.

First, do Cardio to raise your heart rate before you start the ab workout. Burning calories is what gets rid of the fat. The ab workout will build muscles from the fat.

there's no 'spot' lost weight. the reason why you working out your abs helps you lose fat is because your building muscles. the more muscles you have the higher your metabolism. i'm actually really lazy about doing abs and i still have six pack. most of it i think is simply doing lots of cardio and bunches of squats. here are 3 links i found the most useful for helping me cutting weight.

Muscle mass directly consume body fat in order to sustain. Creating muscle tone at certain areas can make the skin tighter and burn body fat.

However adding to much muscle tone does not look attractive on a women, in my opinion. I prefer a flat belly above a six-pack.

No it doesn't. You're not in control of which fat is burned. Your body decides that on its own, and there's nothing you can do about it. If you notice, a person who loses weight usually shows it first in the face. Why is that? He/she doesn't workout the face. The answer is because the body decides. It's a scientific fact. =)
