You are completely correct. I mean if God is the reason bad things happen then why is he suppose to be good. I agree God is GOOD and the Devil is EVIL. The Devil is the creator of all things bad. So right on with yourself... Hope you keep learning more and more.

They spoke directly about Job.
Job 1:
8 Then the LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil."
9 "Does Job fear God for nothing?" Satan replied. 10 "Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. 11 But stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face."
12 The LORD said to Satan, "Very well, then, everything he has is in your hands, but on the man himself do not lay a finger."
Then Satan went out from the presence of the LORD.
So, anythign Satan does directley recieves permission from God, but generally yes, even God is responsible for bad.
Bad or evil is in each persons own respective. I though my first pregnancy was bad, I was being punished, I blamed God, but I see now what I though was bad, what I was mad at him for, I am now very thankful for, and see the blessing.
"ALL things work together for GOOD for them that love God"
That means the bad stuff too.

God's interest is a little beyond your interest in the ants in the back yard. He has repeatedly called us His children. I think there's a reason for this....
Anyway, back to my answer- Any parents around? If your 6-month-old who is starting to walk falls on her tush, what are you going to do? She's crying- aren't you going to pick her up and hug her and prevent that kind of hurt and disappointment? Just carry her the rest of her life, do everything for her- then she won't ever fall on her a** or be disappointed again. Think of the suffering you can prevent!...
But at the same time, she won't ever walk, run or take care of herself. She will never be strong- physically or emotionally. She will forever be dependant upon you.
That is one reason God allows bad stuff to happen. It strengthens us.
The second- One of the main reasons God has arranged all this is so we can prove to ourselves that we deserve to return and live with Him.
That proving can't and won't happen without the opportunity to make choices and choices mean NOTHING without opposition and results (consequences and rewards). There has to be options, the possibility of failure, or those choices mean nothing, they don't prove anything to anyone.

God doesn't nessecarily like what he sees, but he isn't going to jump in and stop things. People have their agency, and whether we like it or not, God is going to let them use it. Yes, I think Satan is responsible for a lot in this world, but the only way he gets in is if you let him. There has to be some chink in your armor of faith and following the commandments for him to able to use our weaknesses to his advantage.
I don't believe that someone is inherently evil, but that he looses sight of what life is really about, and that he has a choice in his actions. I think once Satan gets in, it's hard to not listen to the voices in our heads that say we are horrible and can very be forgiven, that we will always be this way.
I think God is very upset at what is going on in the world right now, but he decided that we needed this experience (earthly life) to not only prove to him that we are strong enough on our own to believe in Him and follow Him, but also to learn and grow. We all make mistakes, but we have been given a way, through Christ, to come back to God. All we have to do is take the opportunity to use this to our advantage.

The christian view of God is not only a loving God, but also a testing God, and a judging God, an almighty God etc...Its not a flat character. He is good to those that allowHim to be good to them. In fact, he calls non-believers fools

Just taste and see that the Lord is Good
Just call O LORD - He'll change your life
You'll feel real love coming into your heart and you will know you've found real love.
So praise the Lord for His life in you. Something of Christ He has outpoured Into your life, so praise the Lord.

We can't understand what God does or why... He is a god... we are finite human beings that have a limited view of the universe. God is infinite and we can't understand everything that He does nor should we question it... that's why it's called FAITH!!!
