We will know he is the Christ by his love....

His message was changed when he came 2000 years ago. Unfortunately, even if he came today, his message would be completely changed. Even if we have video and the exact writings and taped interviews, it would still be changed because what he's trying to get across is beyond words and symbols and, therefore, any use of them to point to that reality will absolutely be misinterpreted. I've seen it done by very smart people who have literally misinterpreted simple text from someone, because the text was not in sync with their personal belief system.

To Gentle Balance,

Jesus didn't have a whole lot of success with the people He came to spread the Gospel to, the Jews. He converted more Gentiles and Samaratins and even Romans than he did Jews. I have no intention of debasing your question, but this is the truth as I understand it.

I believe He is here today, using Christians as His messengers. Unfortunately we're not as good at carrying His message of love and salvation as He was. Many of us allow our own humanity to get in the say instead of loving others unconditionally and offering forgiveness to all. I pray that He allows me to see past the shell of a person (their skin) and that I can see the true person (spirit) inside. I hope that with the Holy Spirit's guidance I will not be afraid to mingle with the sinners and to reach out to those who are hurting and in need of His love. My desire is to not only ask what Jesus would do, but to do as He did in everything today. That's my job as a Christian. All else in life is window dressing.

While I know he had his reasons, I have a hard time calling being strung up on a cross and tortured "successful" at reaching people. Hopefully that wouldn't happen again!

Jesus won't be doing that..You either listen to the Christians that are alive and preaching the word, and that is it. Jesus sent his people to do his work.. He will come again as King of Kings and Lord of Lords and he will rule and reign forever.

The same way as He did before!
And... He'd probably be more successful today also because there are alot more believers today that already know about Him, so it wouldn't be as hard to speak the "Truth".

The same way He did back then... he would go out to the hurting and sick and meet people where they are instead of building a church and telling people to come visit Him on Sunday.

He'd love. Lots of "Christians" don't do enough of that. They shun people and make them feel guilty or not worthy of His salvation. Love still remains the key part of God.
