I feel your pain. I've had asthma for 14 years now and have seen several doctors. The truth is, there is no known cure for asthma at the moment. But the symptoms can be prevented. It really depends on what causes your brother's asthma. Mine is usually dust and hot weather. But I think the universal method is using the control inhaler.
I cured my Asthma the natural way?

Yes, it is. The hotter and more humid it is, the harder it is to breathe the air. It's been bothering me this year. also. Today in Georgia, USA it was 98 F and it made it very hard to breathe! Are you sleeping on raised pillows? Try putting bricks under your headboard to raise the head of your bed about 6". That helps some. And try to avoid temperature changes--like from the air conditioning to outside and back. Termperature changes always kick off a bad one for me. Try to stay cool, and good luck. You might also ask your doctor if you can use more of your inhaler in this weather.

the humid weather, as well as cold weather, sets off my asthma.
you might benefit from seeing your doctor to make sure you're on the right medication.
my asthma nurse reviewed my meds a couple of years ago, and av been much better since. but yes the humidity makes it difficult to get air, and i was struggling to breathe when i woke up this morning, with my asthma.

Do they do the air quality index where you live? Hot hazy days hold in the pollution more, and people with asthma definately suffer! Here they give air quality warnings.

Try to breath in and out through your nose. I have Asthma and used to breath through my mouth all the time - I went on a Buteyko course to learn how to breath properly, and it has helped a lot. According to Buteyko, he never found an asthmatic who breathed through their nose!!!
