The bible says that animals who had "the breath of life" in their nostrils were on the ark. Insects don't have nostrils. Plants are not animals.
No, the flood was not a fairy tale. Why don't you read the bible a little more closely...you could learn a few things!

Noah's ark is currently on the disputed mountain border between Turkey and Armenia. In fact the Bible is very much so real. To answer your questions, the animals and insects came to Noah. Perhaps all Te animals went into some type of hpernatod, those reduing eating habits..

No! Noah gathered all the animals - including 900,000 species of insects and all the rest - and put them aboard his boat. All the animals, of course, except those that lived in the sea, such as whales and sharks and codfish. Also unicorns. Not that they were creatures of the sea, but they were too busy frolicking to get on the boat. Now let that be a lesson to you! More work, less play! Sad, though, isn't it? I would have like to see a unicorn.

Noah didnt collect the anmals God sent them to noah, try readin the bible more carefully. And noah didnt need all of those, animals breed with each other to make new ones, so noah only had to have surtain, animals on the ark. he didnt need to take fallow deer, roe deer, axis deer, sika deer and red deer etc on the ark he would only take about four different types, not all types. Noh didnt need to take plants on board the ark, its common sense, if your village was flooded would you take your garden on board a boat, no you would take your pets and family.
