It won't stunt your growth, sweetie- it'll make your bones stronger and cetainly build muscle which is actually good. Only intense and constant physical exercise would 'stunt'- like the Olympic athletes who are in the gym up to 8 hrs doing nothing but harsh physical work (flips, jumps, running swinging and so on) so they trun out to be short-- and they are also on extremely strict diets.
Keep a healthy diet and exercise in moderation (just enough to get results) and be proud of yourself for your accompishment!

Safe? Anything done within reason is safe. Effective? Are you THAT out-of-shape that you need an ab lounge?
