What is Self-Transcendence?

Maslow came up with it, but I still dont understand what it means

Allow me to add, One can do more than one expected of oneself.

It's a one step beyond the former army motto, "Be all that you can be."

You believe you can acheive within yourself the means of a happier being and ultimate enlightenment.... I dont know but it should be that

You become greater then just yourself, the sum is greater then the parts.
