For me there is no measure of pain from 1 to 10. It is what it is and that's the real of it. There are too many kinds of pain to put a measurement on. There is emotional/physical pain. Just thinking about going to the dentist, I feel pain. But really how could I since I'm not there. So the pain scale isn't and can't be logical. I've heard someone say I feel so much pain I'm going to die. No, that can't be true, your not going to die from pain. Maybe if your body was cut up or your bleeding to death, then maybe. But people don't die from pain.

Is the question "How do YOU measure pain?" In other words how would the reader evaluate pain levels or is the question, "How does ONE measure pain?" Meaning, is there a way for an examiner to assess another person's pain or is it, "How does one MEASURE pain?" Is there a way to unambiguously measure pain to a third party?
A clear thought out question will bring more informed answers.
C+ on the question. Try again.

Most hospitals have a 1 - 10 chart on the wall, complete with a little face that goes form smiling to misery. You might be able to find that out online.
Keep in mind that men have a lower pain threshold than women. It is because of childbirth, and men being more aggressive in fighting/battle. If their pain tolerance was higher, they would take more risks and probably die more often from injuries.

I don't know if this helps any but John Lennon once said, "God is a concept by which we measure pain."
So maybe whoever prays the most? I dunno, I think measuring pain is hard.
