And one rude, judgmental, spiteful Christian to give us all a bad name? I won't go into details but some us who claim to be Christians seem to be serving the other more than Christ with their hatefullness and foolish jokes. Makes one sad that we all must go by the same name doesn't it?

Who's trying to raise themselves? I'm trying to repair the damage done to those of us who try to walk in peace.

I disagree, God limits himself by working through flawed people, yet that is a cause for people who are truly searching to be comforted that if God can love "Brother Brick" in his obvious sin that God can surely love them.
I don't think that God is surprised by our foolishness. Foolishness is expected among the young and there are many who are older who have refused to mature. I think that eventually people come to understand the reality that the character of God is not changed by the bad character of a Christian. Remember that the Bible calls Jesus "the firstborn among many brothers" let us instead call those who are searching to look at the firstborn.
As for those who throw "hypocrisy" rocks, that will happen no matter what: they just want to throw rocks.

One may want to throw out the bushel because of just one bad apple, but if one sees a shining apple- brighter than any apple in the bushel, one wouldnt dare throw it away for fear that he will never find one so juicy again.

I do agree. I think that so many people get turned off from God because they have met people who call themselves Christians and do not act accordingly. I wish that people would not call themselves Christians simply as a way of fitting into some category!

Its called worms.... all christians have them- if the apple goes to church and the worm that is "Gods Word" (in fact is 45 different people usually on any given sunday) and believes that its god talking to them and spreads itself out to other people then yes the bushel is completely ruined.

Christians, it is needless to say, utterly detest each other. They slander each other constantly with the vilest forms of abuse and cannot come to any sort of agreement in their teaching. Each sect brands its own, fills the head of its own with deceitful nonsense, and makes perfect little pigs of those it wins over to its side."

Real Christians don't judge: isnt that a judgement?

That saying is true of many types of fruits. The problem is, when you worship a book that says things like:

"don't cast pearls before swine" and "a fool says in his heart 'there is no god'", you are already starting with a rotten fruit, and nothing good can come of it.

...please don't bother telling me Christians don't worship the Bible. I recognize idolatry when I see it.

Yes, I completely agree with you. I, myself, do know better than to judge a religion by someone's bad deeds.

Real Christians don't judge, nor are they hateful or crude. They're patient and understanding.

Then it's up to the other apples in the bushel to keep them in line and let them know they're being un-apple-like.

Some people don't like apples so it wouldn't make a difference if they were good or spoiled.
