Lobster Roll (I live in Maine)...
1/4 lb. cooked then chilled lobster meat, a dollop of mayonaise or Miracle Whip mixed lightly and put in a fresh, top-split roll.
It's customary to have pickle slices and potato chips on the plate. Sit on a rock, stare at the Atlantic Ocean and chew. Currently, lobster meat is about $26 a pound here -cooked and picked from the shell.
There is a roadside stand on Rt. 1 in Wiscasset, Maine called Red's. No frills but a great lobster roll.
During winter, I prefer seafood chowder... fish, shrimp & scallops: YUM!

Here's a simple but yummy cheesy & salty recipe that uses white cheese sauce instead of yellow, just for a change:
FETTUCINE ALFREDO
1 (8 oz.) pkg. softened cream cheese, cut into small pieces
3/4 grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup milk
8 oz. cooked & drained fettucine noodles
In large saucepan, combine cream cheese, parmesan cheese, butter & milk, stirring constantly over medium heat until smooth. Toss pasta lightly with sauce, coating well. (Serves 4; leftovers freeze well.)
And here's a fun snack that will satisfy both your salty & sweet cravings:
POPCORN, PRETZELS & PEANUTS, IN WHITE CHOCOLATE
8 cups of plain popcorn, popped
2 cups miniature pretzels or pretzel twists
1 cup dry, roasted peanuts
1/2 cup dried cranberries, apricots, or seedless raisins, or M&M's
(if you're not a dried fruit lover)
1 (12oz. pkg.) white chocolate chips
In a very large bowl, mix popcorn, dried fruit of your choice or M&M's, pretzels, and peanuts. Set aside. Place white chocolate chips in microwave safe bowl and cook, uncovered, on high (100% power) for one minute; stir. Continue to microwave on high at 30 second intervals, until the chips are melted. Pour melted chocolate over popcorn mixture, tossing to coat. Spoon mixture onto waxed paper; cool completely.
