HEY IM OBESE. I LOVE GLUTTANY. I love my bubbling rolls that crescend beautifully to my feet. Being obese is beautiful. Except when I can't find my elbows.

McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's, fast food has a big part in it
The other reason is parents. Parents are not setting a good example for their children. If you sit around munching all day and watching tv, so will your child. You have to teach them and SHOW them an active lifestyle.
And another reason is Technology. TV, Vcr, xbox, playstation, computer with internet. Internet is all you ever need. You can do all of the above on the internet. Everything you are interested in is there. You can spend your whole life surfing the internet and never see it all. We have such advanced technology these days that we really never have to leave the house as long as we have money in our credit card account. You can probably even order groceries online somewhere. I'm sure there will be soon.
And Once you reach a certain point, it's very hard to lose the weight. Depression sets in and motivation depletes. It all goes down hill unless you reall motivate yourself and dedicate to a regular workout schedule and diet.

Because a lot of Americans now sit for hours in front of the TV and buy whatever they see advertised; whether its pizza, humongous barf burgers or whatever. They might walk as far daily as from the car into Walmart or 7-11, but that's about all the exercise they get. Sad! However, the coffin industry is really cleaning up...they are now having to super size caskets! And the electric wheel chair industry is making a killing too, selling them to people of all ages who are too obese to walk any more. Just look around the next time you're in the grocery store.

I agree that it tastes good and isn't good for you (although there are many days when I will "pass", it doesn't always sound so good), however, we live in a world where we work more hours, have less time in the day, so I think that is another factor in eating so much junk food (not just fast food served in restaurants either, how many of our freezers are packed with boxed foods?).
I also think that we are just lazier in general. When I was a kid, there wasn't much to watch on tv (shocker, no Disney tv or Nickelodeon!). we had to amuse ourselves in the yard during the day. Now we just turn on the tv and keep it running all day. Life isn't as much fun as it was when I was a kid,lol

weird fact abot mcdonalds. There are 3 time more fat in mcdonalds food in this country compared to mcdonalds in other countries. And I do agree with you. If people know the food is bad for you and you still eat it. It's your fault. Yes people have eating disorder's and rely on food as a stress release. But they are still responsiable for there chioces and there own lives.

Steph...it's not the food...well sort of....it's what happens after the food. We drive through McD's and eat on the way home. We sit down and watch TV....700 channels...no reason to move. That's the problem. If we had sidewalks and bike paths and the price of gas went to $6 a gallon...then we'd have a slimmer America, cause a lot of people would get off their bum and hike it to the store.

Because so many people are living to eat rather than eating to live. Gluttony is idolatry and idolatry is sin. People who don't want to get fat eat junk anyway because food is the god of their life. If you don't do something with life, life will do something with you.

Good question. Mostly because everyone wants food NOW, won't take the time to shop, cook & do like our folks did. And we are lazy. A horrible combination.
You're right: no one is stuffing anyone else's mouth - take responsiblilty for yourself and find some dignity.

I agree that you can't spell. I also agree that this country has a weight problem. People want to make money and others want to eat. Did I miss anything?

I think because in this country recently we've been encouraged to look however we want, and people listen. When in reality looking fat doesn't matter, it's whether you're healthy or not. I believe being underweight or overweight isn't good.
