About a month ago we got a 2nd cat as a companion for our 1 year old cat. Everything's fine, he goes along well with our first cat and he's alright. But there's one problem. He sleeps in the litterbox. He goes all comfortable and cuddly with the litter (and sometimes with the poop in there...) and stays in there for a long time and eventually falls asleep. People told us that it's effective to spray cats with a waterbottle to make them stop from doing what they do. But that doesn't help. And we don't want him to totally stop from using the litterbox. If someone knows what to do please help. I'm tired of bathing him every single day!

I bet your kitty just wants a safe spot to sleep. i bet if you get a kitty cube, and put a shirt of your or a favorite blankie, that kitty will start going there. I would, once your kitty gets sleepy in the litter box, move it to the kitty cube.you can get them at Wal-mart for about 14.00. Its just a cat bed thats in the shape of a cube. Hope it works for ya!

He is looking for a safe cozy place to sleep... if you make a bed for him in a box that is partially covered that may do the trick. (my cats hang out in the box sometimes... I think they just like being enclosed)

change his litter box to a different place replace it with one that looks like it and just add padding or something or just buy a cat bed
