Y'know, I personally know thousands, if not tens of thousands of Christians. I have found only a few to be "nasty, self-righteous, and judgemental" as you say.

Do you have any idea how boring it can get, being told over and over again how "nasty, self-richeous and judgemental" you are, because of your love for your Savior?
Do you realize that a blanket statement like that is nasty, self-righteous, and judgmental? Even if you had spelled it right, it is still demeaning.
If you would rather embrace Buddhism, that's cool. I'm not sure how loving it is to feed milk to a statue in a nation where children are starving while hamburger on the hoof wanders free in the streets, but hey, that's their thing. Too bad the statue can't love them back.
(At the risk of sounding "nasty, self-richeous and judgemental")

I think you're being really nasty and judgemental to call Christians that! How can you know, anyway? Have you had contact with many- or even any? Or are you just making ridiculous assumptions? To tell you the truth, I don't know anything about Buddhism, but I CAN tell you that the Christian religion is probably just as loving. I'm a devoted Christian and I'm none of what you've said! So, instead of doing exactly what you seem to be angry at, and generalizing, take of what you think and the words provoked by those thoughts... thanks for reading.

Christians are not made perfect with their decision to follow Christ. We are just people and are learning all of the time. Some people are shy about witnessing just like doing a book report in front of the class. Others get very excitable and sometimes miss their intended goal. Others have been brought up with a loud boisterous parent and think you have to be stern and loud to get their point across.Others can be false witnesses who are actually trying to ruin the name of God and these false witnesses are Satan's best weapons. Words and actions must be the same in anything before it is believable. You are right that some act self-righteous but are they really true or false Christians or maybe don't have the skills yet to be effective witnesses. The judgmental can be the same because of past experiences. Be positive that it isn't" your feelings of being judged", because of what you are hearing and pitting it against your own life choices ,instead of "the person being judgmental."If that is the case, then the first natural response is that it is the other persons fault instead of studying it and making a thoughtful decision. Best wishes.

no, Buddhism isn't more loving. I don't know which Christians are self richeous, does that mean they worked for their money or something? If you mean self-righteous, I'd like to point out that Christians are not the only ones who are like that, it's just that we are the ones who are noticed most. With good reason of course! We are not supposed to be like that at all. I really don't know many Christians that are nasty, but you are right. We are the Body of Christ and you are supposed to identify us by our love for one another.

There are many more "loving" religions than Christianity...Buddhism is one of them. So far as Christians being self-richeous and judgemental they're that way because they truly believe that their theology is the "TRUE FAITH". FYI Buddhism is more a philosiphy of life than Religion and that alone makes it more appealing than Christianity. Would urge you to check out WWW.UUA.ORG for a denomination that embodies spirituality without the dogmatic-egocentric crap that other Sects bring to the table. PEACE!

True Christians are neither nasty, self-richeous nor judgemental. If a person is any or all of these things, they are NOT Christian, no matter what religion they say they are.

Organized religion seems to have been fudged with Freemasonry, chiseling or "stonecutting", and people sometimes think they can steal virtue from someone else by laying false accusations and/or by being chastising and abusive. I refer to it as "stealing virtue". In other words, organized religion appears to be on the System. See how the System works (on the ying and yang, Western interpretation, ideology). They appear to think they thus become righteous "in exchange". Church organizations have been bartering in human commodities for a long time, I think. Many people get turned off of organized religion for this reason. Sometimes people are "sacrificed" to the System so that their families, and even just fellow group members can get more from it. It seems like they are designated as "bad" or as black sheep, and others are assigned the false or chiseled role of good people. Organized religion is thus used to abuse. The abuse is not accidental. It contains a deliberate element. I overheard a Mormon explain the ideology to a child at a local children's festival. The ying and the yang were painted on the kids' faces (as well as the upside down peace sign). When asked about what it meant she said something to this effect, which I think could be almost word for word: "Good and bad have to exist in equal amount and in equal proportion, and inside everything that's bad you have to add a little bit of good (hence the white dot inside the ying and the yang), and inside everything that's good you have to add a little bit of bad "(referring to the addtion of the black dot inside the white part of the symbol).
The event had been put on by "stonecutters", but the general public attended it in the interest of harmony and getting along together. (Mormons are considered to be on a form of Freemasonry).
I do not agree with this ideology. However, you might be surprised at how many people appear to be abiding by that view. One male parent or teacher made a sarcastic remark in response to the explanation: "I imagine those who are geometrically challenged might find it hard to paint a ying and a yang."
I do not know a lot about Buddhism. You would have to find out more about their Enlightenment, and the nature of it to really know.

Why are humans in general nasty self-righteous and judgemental?
Buddhism is full of hypocrites just like any religion! I spent time in Thailand and they are supposedly into healthy body and healthy mind and yet they some like chimneys and take the poor people's food from them!

Why is it politically correct to 'not judge others'? We clearly have a responsibility within the scriptures to use good judgment. Utilizing good judgment means choosing who I hang out with, who I'll do business with, who I'll accept as a prospective mate, and in the same vein I have to hold my neighbor accountable to social standards like not shooting a gun up in the air in a city where the bullet is likely to come down on someone's head.
You are the hypocrite to suggest that we not use judgment. I'd be willing to bet (if I were a betting man) that you spew judgment all over society without ever a concern for your judgmentalism, when someone smokes to close to you, when someone drives by in their huimmer, when someone proudly displays their 'Support Bush '04' bumper sticker to this day, etc.,
Judgment is a good thing, both personally and for society. The proper use of the biblical scripture you want to hang Christians with is, "Do not condemn unjustly, for whatever measure you use on your brother will also be used by your Father in heaven."
