According to Christian belief if you ask for forgiveness before you die and you really mean it....you can be saved and go to heaven.
Does this mean that if Adolph Hitler confessed to his sins, repented and truly meant it 2 minutes before his death that he would be in heaven??????

That's ironic. Although I am generally a good person who has never harmed anyone in my life and help those I feel are in need, I am going to hell because I don't buy into the religion. Something profoundly wrong with that. What about the Dalai LLama. He won't even harm an insect but he's going to hell too.

This is one of the concepts central to the Christian belief system. Christianity, however, is an irrational belief system based upon archaic mythes and a remarkably limited understanding of the world.

Please stop and consider this. The bible says there is none without sin. That includes you.

Adolf Hitler...quite an obvious example of sin. The Dali Lama...why would anyone think he is devoid of sin? We each are sinners.

Sin cannot enter heaven. Jesus died on a cross to pay the penalty for our sins. "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved".

No one is "good". Repentance of sin, acceptance of Christ, that is what the bible tells us is the way to heaven. There is a parable in the bible about workers in a field. Some work all day, some only an hour...all receive the same wage. A person can believe in Christ all their life, and be saved. A person can truly repent the last moment of their life, and be saved.

Your opinion, while being respected, does not govern what God has declared the way to salvation. He has made the way through His son, and His son alone.

Let me ask you- if you don't believe in Heaven, or God then why are you so upset that your good works and kindness won't get you into Heaven?
If you think there is no such thing- then it shouldn't matter.
The key is to believe in God and ask forgiveness and to truly trust in God. That gets you into Heaven. If someone no-matter what they did truly believes this before they die, then it is a shame it took so long for them to realize, but the key is - that they did realize. Jesus died for our sins and in Gods eyes every sin is the same until you ask forgiveness. Then it doesn't matter anymore because you are starting over as a Christian.

You bring up a good question that questions your own religion. How is it logical that just because you believe in Jesus and you ask for forgiveness two seconds before you die and you will go to heaven??? We humans have our own brain and are responsible for our sins. Yes, we can ask for forgiveness, but it all depends on your intentions. Also how can Jesus be God when it states in the Bible that while he was on the cross he was asking God why this was happening to him??
It just doesn't make any sense.

If Adolph Hitler had repent his sins to God and truly believed that Jesus was sent to earth to save us from perish, then yes he would be saved.

What do you think Hitler said in his last two minutes before committing suicide?

I don't think so.... My pastor teaches that as soon as a person knows about Jesus Christ, they have the option of accepting Him into their heart. I don't see how a person can go through their life knowing about the Bible and so on and not truly accept Him until the last moment.
But that's just my two cents.

That is between him and God. It is not for us to judge another's salvation. And it is not just about asking for forgiveness. You must call upon the Lord to come into your heart and surrender to His will, then ask for His forgiveness.

Hypothetically speaking, if someone like Hitler did ask God into his heart and was humble and asked for forgiveness, surrendering to God's will, he would be saved. That is the mercy of God.

God bless.

Yes! For sure.

If at some time in any persons life they accept Jesus the Christ (Saviour) as their own personal Saviour.
Realize that HE, Jesus, died for his or her own personal and individual sins.
Is truly sorry (repents) for all the sins he or she has committed and for the evil thoughts and deeds done.
Asks Jesus to "come in to his or her heart" and "wash it clean" of sins.
Accepts Jesus as THE ONLY SAVIOUR and accepts that Jesus is TRULY GOD.
That person is SAVED from Hellfire FOR EVER!

Yes. I know it doesn't make sense to the human mind but much of God's mind is far outside the realm of human intelligence
