I have a '94 Ford Ranger with 278K miles on it.
The best reason is because I'm meticulous about keeping up the maintenance on it. Oil changes every 3500 miles, steam the engine every 15k miles. Other than clutches, brakes and a starter motor I haven't had a major problem with it at all.
Good old truck.

We have a 94 Dodge Caravan, a 97 Plymouth Voyager and a 94 Dodge Ram diesel truck. Each one has over 200,000 miles on it. How? Just good vehicles I guess. Keep the oil changed and keep up other maintenance.

Yeah, I'd like to know this too. Hell, I'd like to know how to get a car to reach 100,000 miles. My Nissan Sentra which I bought new has 97,000 miles on it, and there are more repair costs that I need to put in that car than it is worth. So, I'm selling it, hoping my Service Engine Light doesn't come on when they test drive it at 1-800-car-cash.

And this is what gets me....I bought it new, kept up the oil changes and required and recommended maintenance like clockwork, and this is how it repays me? POS. Never buy a Nissan....apparently mine was made on a Monday somewhere down in Mexico after the automakers had too much tequila over the weekend. Grrrrrrrrrr.....

Driving freeways usually last the car longer, as it is mostly driving in one gear, Rather than street where the gears go up/down. It doesn't push your car as much.

Yet still, take care of your car (fluid changes) and it should last

Explains why most used car sellers advertise "all freeway miles"
