Was a few years ago when some big wig in the Catholic church said if Jesus were alive today, he would be a communist. He got into major trouble for that but I can't remember who it was.??

why not? communism is the best IN THEORY of all governments. if it could work (ie. humans didnt have greed) then i would be communist. but it cant, because humans are greedy. so im not. jesus would definately be communist.

Perhaps. There are idiots amoung all peoples and the Catholic Church is not immune. Communism is opposed to the Catholic Faith at the fundamental level. The priest, there probably was more than one, was talking out of his personal fantasy and it was right for the Church to come down hard on him.

The priests the prosue this unfruitful line of thought are involved with "Liberation Theology" which comes out of Marxist philosophy in Latin America. This form of theology has been severely criticized officaly by the organs of the Vatican and incompatable with the gospel. This will help you to track down the specific priest, because he is proably coming out of Latin America.
