Our answers are not mean-spirited and derogatory, they're defensive.
When people ask pointed questions in an attacking manner, (such as "how come Christians,.... Nobody likes to be generalized) it becomes necessary to address the facts.
And, why do some people want so badly to discredit Christianity that they deceptively use text out of context as a weapon? Most of us are open to friendly debate. But why would an opposing argument be so important to necessitate fraud?
Furthermore, I've never seen an answer such as "if you weren't a sinner,..." I won't argue that it hasn't been said, but this is hardly typical. Lets be fair here.
And exactly how is judging people like being a Pharisee? The bible tells us not to condemn people, but we should judge people by their actions. Even non-christians do that! You call someone who steals a thief, someone who lies a liar, someone who murders a murderer. By what standard to you not apply judgement of right and wrong?

There are Christians by name and Christians by nature.
Unfortunately some people lose sight of this, only do what is necessary to be 'seen' to be Christian, and sometimes never realize their mistake.
A lot of the nicest people I've met don't call themselves Christians (or any other religion, for that matter) - some Christians I know would look at them and say, "well I don't respect them at all, and they're going to Hell," and I think, well, they're much more pleasant to be around than you are, more kindhearted and accepting, so how can you be so sure?
It's especially interesting given the current environment, seeing how many people give themselves the right to judge those with different beliefs. I would have thought the right to judge was not ours.

Sorry you feel that way, but telling some one to read the Bible so that they can gain more knowledge for themselves that they will benefit from in the long run, is hardly being Harsh! Not only that, it is time out for playing Patty-Cake with the Devil, when he is walking back and forth in the Earth, seeking whom he may Devour! What we are trying to do is to get people to take heed to the Word of God before it is to late and in Hell they will lift up there eyes for all eternity. What's really sad is that the Devil has decieved so many people until what we say is going in one ear and out the other! It's just a shame that so many will perish because they didn't take heed to the warning because there feeling were hurt! Try telling that to the Devil as your Burning for all eternity!

Why do Americans talk down to each other in each answer?
All Christians are still sinners! They are forgiven sinners but sinners none the less. A Christian has 2 separate natures battling it out for control. The first is the sinful nature that we are born with. The second is the Spirit. As humans we all tend to do things as humans, and as such Christians and those that claim to be will act like humans! Christians are to be meek, but meekness is NOT weakness. We are commanded to love one another, but we are also told to be prepared to give an answer for our faith. If you are allowed to be passionate in your questions and disbelief, Christians too, have a calling to be passionate about their beliefs. I agree it should NEVER come down to name calling. We can be passionate about our beliefs and it's defense, but we must always give our replies in love. We shouldn't expect nor be surprised that non-believers don't act like Christians. Thank you for bringing out a very important point.

Not all Christians... Although I do know what you are talking about... Just because some people have been influenced by the Bible they may think that they are better, smarter, or some other reason. The way to tell a true Christian is to find out if they are compassionate and try to "Show you the way" by informing you what they think and what verse to look to if you are struggling. Christians are supposed to be Christ Like... which means to try to be more like Him and his wonderful demeanor on his Earthly Visit deeds.

Because far too many of these Christians call themselves Christians and then proceed to judge, criticize and insult others, Mr. Burns, in an effort to show the others just how low they really are and if they became just like them, the would be so much happier and better off. They are able to see Satan all around them but they tend to deny or ignore Satan in themselves. That, Mr. Burns, is dangerous and hypocritical.

I think too many people have fallen under the influence of fundamentalist preachers and now believe that theirs is the only belief system that is right.
Everyone else is wrong.
It's very much like they check their brains in the entry to their church before services and don't bother picking them up on the way out.
I'm a Christian, but not one of those who feels that it is "my way or the highway". I have deep faith, but don't impose my beliefs on others who may also be geniune in their own beliefs.
Those people feel that God has chosen them when, in fact, it is their pastor who has told them that ... so they will give him more money and make him the arbiter of what beliefs to have.
They are actually abdicating their faith to the pastor. How very sad.

It is sad that some Christians talk poorly toward others and make judgements toward some. If we could memorize Matthew 7, that would take us half way home.
If we were to take James 1:19 more to heart, we would think that the whole world is at peace.
Thanks for alerting us to our poor behavior, I will be more careful when speaking to others.

i think of the persons you're describing does not omit the different group, because of the fact they might in all likelihood discover another group at which to fling the poop. i'm getting bored stiff with the vitriol and invective directed the two techniques, and melancholy of ever getting many intense, reasoned solutions on maximum non secular, political, or societal questions approximately this internet site. you will discover those good answer, yet there's a heck of relatively some chaff burying slightly of wheat.

Huh, I guess you and I must not be reading the same answers. I don't see that many Christians doing that.
Some do, I suppose. But then, nobody's perfect.
You would know that, if you read the Bible. j/k
