Residing in a wide bay, Dublin lies between Howth in the north and the headland of Dalkey to the south and the River Liffey split the city in two making out of this town a fascinating city that you will have the opportunity with hotelbye to go to it. Dublin has given the world such well-known fictional like: Yeats, Beckett, Joyce, Shaw, and Wilde. Dublin was a UNESCO Town of Literature this year therefore is surely an interesting town to visit particularly if you want to visit Bewley's Oriental Café ;.Many would say that Bewley's Oriental Café is the treasure in the crown. Bewley's Oriental Café is an institution that has been built-in 1927.

Go to Bar Bruxellois. It's an amazing blues bar with usually one band upstairs and second downstairs. It's also where the film The Commitments was filmed if you're into movie trivia.
Also, during the day, go up Grafton Street as it's the main area where people busk. There are some amazing people down there and it's really friendly. Also check out the National Art Gallery, an unexpected treasure.

The obvious tourist area is the Guinness tour. It is a must. Get yourself a 1 day tour bus pass for about 12 Euros. It will bring you there and a ton of other places. A lot cheaper than a cab. The Temple Bar area is a great place for pubs, but it is really touristy. The two best pubs to go there are "Quay's Pub" and "Temple Bar". Another good one outside the Temple Bar area is "the Brazen Head" -- it is considered one of the oldest bars in Europe. Good traditional music there.

Slapperface Jacks on Queen Street. I assume you mean the Dublin in Ireland, and not the one in Ohio by the way.

A few tips for good pubs
Brazen head: the oldest pub in Dublin good atmosphere, trad music etc. (pointer take a seat in the oldest part of the pub. mind your head when entering!!! and sit down you will find that every night at least one person bangs his head against the low door)
Porter house: on the edge of temple bar Micro brewn beer and a large selection of world beers, good food at reasonable prices and live music of various styles every night.
My own local dive when I am in town is the Celts on talbot street.
on the edge of the centre of town near to various hostels and b&b's mixed crowd of locals and tourists typical Irish pub live music every night.
Another one of my favorites is the Hole in the wall this one is past Phoenix park so best take a cab.it's basically 7 pubs(including a restaurant)
linked together each one with their own style
